On April 9, my colleague Gerhard and I took a bus from Siem Reap to Banlung—a very adventurous journey! Upon arrival in Banlung, we checked into our hotel, which had been kindly reserved for us by the director of the FLO Center, Mr. Yit.
In the evening, Mr. Yit picked us up from the hotel, and we discussed together when we could visit the school the next day. On April 10, we received a very warm welcome at the school. We were shown around the entire center, and we were extremely pleasantly surprised by the level of commitment and personal dedication with which it is run.
The sight of the children's shining eyes made us especially happy. We spontaneously decided to go shopping with all the children to make them happy. Afterwards, we and the teachers treated them to hamburgers and fries – and to top it all off, they had a large ice cream! The children's faces were beaming, and my heart was filled with happiness.
Gerhard and I have decided to continue supporting the FLO Center and travel to Banlung again next year.
